JANUARY 2008

Several small family teams visited this month and provided great help to the village people:

--Small business counseling and a new businessloan program set up

--Electircal wiring of the church and on the job training in electrical skills for several men

--Soccer training

-Youth events

--Lots of love and attention poured out on the children

DECEMBER 2007

Atlanta City Church sent a team from their Bible College of enthusiastic young people who wowed the villages with their dance and drama and youthful energy and high spirits!  They provided:

--Evangelism through mime and drama

--Assistance with the start-up of the new Adopt-a-Family project

--Christmas parties with gift bags for several hundred children in several villages

--Sports

--Building projects

JULY 2007

Alarge team from Independence Hill Bapist Church came down and blessed the people with:

-Medical and dental services

-Building projects

--Ministry in the church's adopted village Santa Matilde

--Children's Ministry

--Independence HIll is our biggest support for the Medical/Dental clinic currently under construction

 

January -May 2007

Tom and Linda Gable made a misison trip in January and after that visit felt called to work full-time in Nicaragua! The spring season was spent in preparation for their move.  On the January trip the following was accomplished:

  • Christian books distributed to leaders
  • Plans set in motion to begin a Bible College and to start ministry of "Pastor's Helping Pastors"
  • Graduation celebration for school children and special children's service held with hundreds of children from several villages
  • Graduation of the 2nd year sewing class and plans to purchase more machines
  • 213 children sponsored for the new school year
  • Organic vegetable and herb garden planned and agricultural workers assigned
  • Plans of nutrituional juices and medicines to be created from gardens
  • Fishing ministry needs $5,000 for boat, motor and equipment
  • $1,500 spent for food for the hungry
  • Chickens purchased and pigs fattened up and ready for breeding
  • Milton (evangelist) reports 30 new believers accept Christ after he preached in a small village church
  • Church group goes to Managua for first time in their lives (Pastor fears escalator and Oscar fears roller coaster!)
  • Plans started to have Dr. Augustine hold clinics in the village twice a month
  • Prayers for the sick and help with medical needs, medicines, etc.
  • Medical needs met, bought prescriptions
  • A truckload of toys and clothes distributed to the poor
  • Met with a local woman to help with aids pervention in the area
  • Heard incredible stories of healings and miracles from extremely poor churches

Trips in 2006

Several small group trips held troughout the year with mini teams of 3-6 people accomplished the following:

  • Medical clinic with Angela Layton
  • Gave finances for school childrens tuition and uniforms
  • Oversaw construction of roof and support for church/community center
  • Planted trees, flowers, shrubs around parsonage and lining church property
  • Worked on sports fields and basketball court
  • Bible teaching, visitations and baptisms
  • Pigs purchased/Vegetables planted and harvested

March 2005

A team of 12 traveled to Nicaragua to serve our brothers and sisters in Candelaria during Holy Week. The highlights of the trip are as follows:

  • Childrens day of teaching, fun and celebration
  • "True Love Waits" campaign with teens and young adults
  • Salvation of blind ederly gentlemen
  • Baptism of 18 new Christians
  • Showing of "The Passion OfThe Christ" to 600 people
  • Planning for construction of church

November 2004

Praying over and dedicating the future projects to the glory of Jesus, we established the specific funds that need to be raised.

  • $6000 for school sponsorship for 225 children
  • $5000 for an apartment like home for homeless widows, single women and their children
  • $20,000 for a simple church/community center building
  • $5000 for a dental clinic
  • $2000 for two athletic fields and playgrounds
  • $2000 for a multi-use building for industry--bakery, sewing, arts and crafts

October 2004

Larry Sellers went down 5-19 October 2004. His mission trip report included:

  • Dug 150-ft well
  • Education on Health and General Hygiene

July 2004

Our team was able to make a second trip in 2004 in July. The highlights of that trip were:

  • Vacation Bible School
  • Workshop Time
  • Crusade/Evangelism
  • Bible Teaching
  • Prayer and Ministry
  • Dental Clinics

February 2004

In February of 2004 a team of 12 people participated in a rewarding mission trip for 8 days. With our 2 Nicaraguan translators we had a great and effective team. Some of the ministries we were able to provide were:

  • Dental clinics
  • Blood pressure and blood sugar clinics
  • Barber shop
  • Construction of a house for a widow
  • Bible studies
  • Evangelism
  • Visitation, prayer, and encouragement to families
  • Participation in a fishing trip
  • Baptism
  • Clothes distribution
  • Children's Fiesta
  • Repair of Church "big tent" shelter
  • Gardening
  • Ministry to the sick and dying
